Get ContextOS. It’s free.

One app gives every AI on your computer the same memory. It installs in about a minute, starts at login and opens a setup console that shows each tool going green. No account.

macOS

ContextOS.dmg

Universal (Apple Silicon and Intel). macOS 11 or later.

Quit ContextOS from the menu bar extra before replacing the app in Applications — closing the window leaves the daemon running, so Finder will say the old app is in use. If it still is, in Terminal run curl -s -X POST http://127.0.0.1:47821/api/shutdown, then quit ContextOS and copy again. If macOS says the app is damaged or unidentified, choose Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Windows 10 / 11

ContextOS-Setup.exe

64-bit installer served from this site.

Signed publisher: Brad Logan. If Windows SmartScreen still says unrecognized, choose More info → Run anyway until the signed publisher builds reputation. Re-running setup updates in place and keeps your memory.

Linux

ContextOS.AppImage

64-bit x64. Ubuntu 22.04 or later, or another glibc 2.35+ desktop.

x64 AppImage. This button turns on when the x64 build is available on this page.

After you install

  1. Open ContextOS. It starts the background service, turns on start at login (Startup folder on Windows, LaunchAgent on a Mac, ~/.config/autostart on Linux) and opens the setup console.
  2. Check the cards. Each AI tool shows whether it’s installed, running and connected. Use a card’s install link for anything missing, then restart that tool once.
  3. Click Sync now on a card, then follow “Your step after Sync.” In the ChatGPT app, open Plugins, then Skills, and turn ContextOS on once. If Plugins lists it twice, enable just one. In Grok Bot, open Marketplace in the left sidebar.
  4. Optional: browser chats. For chatgpt.com, claude.ai, Gemini, Google AI Studio or grok.com, add the ContextOS extension to Chrome, Edge or Firefox (store listing when live, or Load unpacked / temporary add-on from the extension folder) and switch on the sites you want. Safari: see the Safari pack README.
